Sad Delta

SAD DELTA

Burma’s Irrawaddy delta,
Fill with patches of solid green,
Burma’s Rice bowl,
Now with full of lost souls.

Barns without rice,
Homes without walls and roofs,
Families with dead and lost siblings,
Desperate survival, Junta tries to cling.

Harsh life under Junta,
Tempest swept Irrawaddy delta,
Life without food and hope,
Is it end of the road?

Salt water filled the fields,
Carcasses everywhere from here to sea,
No helps in sight,
Added to daily plights.

The country without leader,
Hidden in the cave of Naypyidaw*,
Real leader, our Monk Sayadaws,
Set free from Junta’s claws.

Wipe away tears,
Start a new life to bear,
Helps from far and near,
Sad delta needs your love and care.
